Goodness

We all want to do good, not only for ourselves, but for others as well. We get a sense of accomplishment when we do a good thing for someone, it makes us feel like the world can change because we made a difference, no matter how small.

I’m just here to tell you that even if you don’t get recognized or publicized for doing good in your community, school, job, or anywhere else, just know that God saw your good deed. For what you do in secret, God will reward you openingly. We don’t want to do good to only silence our critics, we want to do good by others and for others because that is God’s will for His people. Sometimes we get caught up in helping others because it will show up someone else or it will prove to someone who may not be your biggest fan that you are a good person. You don’t need to prove to the world that you are good, God weighs the heart and if you are doing good things to get reactions from the world, then you need to reevaluate your heart. Sometimes you can do good for someone, but because your heart is not in the right place (doing good to receive something back from that person in the future or doing it to please or entertain the masses), that “good deed” has become tainted by your wicked heart in that moment. When was the last l you did something good for someone WITHOUT declaring it all over social media?

I know we live in a more publicized world, where we feel that we have to share every part of our lives with everyone in hopes of staying connected or feeling that everyone will understand us better. We have to get out of the mentality of doing good for “likes” or “followers,” but get back to the root of service. We need to start conditioning our hearts to serve (not be a slave), but serve others as Christ is serving us. People assume that because we as believers are built to serve and we serve to build, that we become slaves to Christ, however we will never be slaves to Christ because He has made us FREE, but we will be doing HIS good works in the earth without the expectation of monetary gain. For we know our true reward is a crown of glory and an inheritance with the Lord in our next life.

So, I say this to you on today, don’t get caught up in the world’s view of what doing good means (likes, followers, endorsements), get caught up in doing good the way our Lord has established in His good word, so that in the end, when He is weighing your deeds (good and bad), that your good out weighs the bad because your heart was in the right place when you were doing good.

Well, be GOOD to each other. Be the CHAMPIONS that I know you are. #SeasonofGrowth #SeasonofVictory #SeasonofPassover
